As always, your security is a priority at Volunteer Federal. Sign up for FREE SMS Guardian Service and you will receive text messages regarding transaction activity on your Volunteer Federal debit card. You can enroll any Volunteer Federal debit card for this service and you may choose to receive text alerts on up to 10 different SMS (Short Message Service) or text message enabled devices.

The following is an example of an alert:

  • Guardian Alert on card 1234 at XYZ Store for $500.00. Reply AA1234NO if unauthorized. Reply STOP to cancel alerts.
  • Alerts will be sent if the following transactions occur on the card you enrolled:
  • Authorizations Greater than $200
  • 8 or more transactions in a 24-hour period
  • Online or other “Card not present” transactions
  • International or out of state transactions (out-of-state transactions are triggered based on your address in our system)

If you receive this message and the purchase is legitimate, do nothing. If the purchase is fraudulent, reply with the code included in the message and your card will be immediately blocked. You will have up to 12 hours of the original text alert to reply. This service can be cancelled anytime by replying with the message “STOP.”

Enrollment enables the service for one year. Prior to expiration, you will be notified and will be able to text a reply to renew. Changing mobile service providers may require you to reenroll your mobile device. The cell phone or mobile device must have the ability to send and receive text messages and the use of “short codes” must not be blocked. Standard text messaging rates may apply – please contact your mobile service provider for details.

FDIC Money Smart – Computer-Based Instruction

You will need to create an account to access the Money Smart financial education courses. The Money Smart Computer-Based Instruction (CBI) is an easy-to-use tool to learn more about basic personal financial management. The CBI can complement formal classes by providing learning assignments that users can complete at their own pace. The CBI features a game-based learning design and separate learning tracks for adults and young adults. The adult learning track features the 11 modules in the instructor-led Money Smart curriculum for adults. The young adult learning track (for those age 13 and older) features the eight modules in the Money Smart for Young Adults curriculum. Each module can generally be completed within 30 minutes.

The Volunteer Federal Wiener Wagon can be borrowed by church groups, civic groups, charitable organizations, business associations, etc., for your special cookout or fundraiser.
