Anyone ever wonder, “Where does all my money go?!” Remember that little spending can add up fast. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Beware of little expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship.” As an example, let’s say you have an average spending of $10 daily on things like gas station coffee, fast food breakfast/lunch, or little snacks or sodas throughout the day. Ten dollars might not seem like much, but if you multiply that by seven days a week, you’re out $70 per week. If you continue this spending pattern each day of the year (for 52 weeks), that’s about $3,640 gone on convenience store snacks or fast food breakfast/lunches. Over the course of five years, that comes out to $18,200!!! Creating a budget is one of the most important steps in managing your money and becoming ‘financially fit.’ On this #ThrowbackThursday, check out this great little video from “Schoolhouse Rock” to get an idea of how little spending can add up fast, and how budgeting can make a big difference! This is also a great lesson to share with your kids!#TNFinLit #financialknowledgeispower #communitybanking #banklocal #financialfreedom #budget Tennessee Bankers Association ... See MoreSee Less

It's Tennessee Financial Literacy Week! We'll share numerous posts throughout the week with tools and tips to help give you the financial know-how. An important early financial lesson to teach our children is the difference between “want” and “need.” Is it something you need, or just something you want? If we’re honest, this is a lesson we, as adults, sometimes forget, too! Here is a great worksheet and some coloring pages to help explain the differences between wants and needs to your children through a fun activity.##TNFinLit #communitybanking #banklocal #financialfreedom Tennessee Bankers Association ...
